Galloway-Mowat syndrome type 7 (GAMOS7) is a
very rare genetic condition that affects primarily
the brain and kidneys. It is characterised by
developmental delay, poor growth, particularly
affecting head the head (significant microcephaly),
and dysfunctional kidneys. Apart from the brain
being smaller in size, some individuals may have
other central nervous system abnormalities,
including simplified gyri and sulci pattern and
cerebellar atrophy. Renal involvement leads to
progressive nephrotic syndrome. GAMOS7 is
caused by alterations in both copies of the
NUP107 gene.
