We're redesigning our website - we're keen for you to try it so we can hear your views on how it can be improved ahead of the official launch. Head on over to the HFEA BETA to see how it is shaping up.

Long term trends in fertility treatment: 1991-2006

Our long-term trend data can be analysed in many ways. We have presented the key trends in the patients treated, the use of different treatments and the birth rates over time.

We will continue to expand the type and depth of analysis we do in the future.

How we gathered the data

Clinics are required by law to provide information to the HFEA Register about all licensed fertility treatments they carry out.

The Register started operating in August 1991 and is a rich source of information about assisted reproductive technologies (ART), its outcomes and the factors that contribute to the birth of a baby following treatment.
