2005-01-26: A number of applicants have requested statistics from the HFEA. Historical information can be found in old editions of the HFEA's Annual Reports and Patients' Guides; more recent statistical data will be included in our new Patients' Guide, which is due to be published in April 2005. Thereafter, updated statistics will be published on an annual basis. Data is extracted from the HFEA Register to produce statistical information. At present we are in the middle of a project to improve the quality of the data held by the Authority. This has entailed the creation of a new Register database and an extensive verification exercise (more information is available in the Chair's and Chief Executive's letters from 2003-04). This project is due to be completed at the end of March 2006. Until this date, we will be unable to publish any statistics other than those included in the Patients' Guide.
