2005-09-15: There are currently 10 centres in the UK licensed by the HFEA to carry out preimplantation genetic diagnosis. Details of these centres can be found in the HFEA Guide to Infertility.

In 2002, 231 cycles involving PGD were initiated. Of these 119 (96.7%) reached the aspiration stage, 87 (70.1%) reached the embryo transfer stage, 25 (20.3%) resulted in pregnancies and 21 (17.1%) resulted in deliveries. 16 of the deliveries were singleton deliveries and 5 were twin deliveries.
