Lord Richard Harries of Pentregarth

Biography

Lord Richard Harries of PentregarthRichard Harries was Bishop of Oxford from 1987 to 2006. He was previously Dean of King's College, London where he is now an honorary Professor of Theology. He is a member of the Nuffield Council on Bioethics as well as the HFEA.

He chaired the House of Lords Select Committee on stem cell research and is an honorary Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.

He has written books on theological and aesthetic subjects as well as on a range of ethical issues. He is a regular broadcaster, particularly on BBC Radio 4's TODAY Programme.
