HFEA consultation on the draft 8th Code of Practice and revised consent forms

 

The HFEA would like your views on the draft 8th Code of Practice and a number of revised patient consent forms.

The new Code of Practice and consent forms have been written to:

• help clinics meet new legislative requirements
• introduce some changes in guidance in response to feedback from patients and licensed clinics
• take the opportunity to improve the style and layout of both the Code and the consent forms to improve clarity and usability

To have your say, look at the draft 8th Code of Practice, the consultation document that covers background information on the changes, the impact assessment summary, and the revised consent forms, then complete an online questionnaire.

Feedback is due by 18th February 2009.

Public consultation meetings

Everyone is invited to attend one of our public consultation meetings which will cover both the 8th draft Code of Practice and consent forms consultation, and the presentation of clinic data consultation.

The dates are as follows:

• Manchester -14th January 2009
• London (focussing on PGD only) - 26th January 2009 
• Bristol - 29th January 2009
• London - 11th February 2009
