Code of Practice
The HFEA Code of Practice is intended to help and encourage licensed centres to understand and comply with their legal requirements. It also gives guidance on how centres are expected to go about meeting those requirements.

Principles
The principles reflect the HFEA’s key regulatory priorities from the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act. They indicate the key behaviour and outcomes the HFEA expects each licensed centre to demonstrate.
We will be issuing a new Code of Practice guidance which will come into force on 1 October 2013.
Guidance notes
This section of the Code contains 32 guidance notes to help our clinics to understand their responsibilities.
The general format for guidance notes is made up of Mandatory requirements, HFEA guidance and Other legislation, professional guidelines and information.
