Biography

Mrs Sally Cheshire

Sally has been an HFEA member since 2006 and chairs the Audit and Governance Committee.

Sally is the Non-executive Director, Audit Committee Chair for the Health Research Authority (HRA).

She is a finance and business professional with 20 years experience across a range of sectors in strategy, finance and accounting, mergers and acquisitions and business operations. She is a chartered management accountant, beginning her career with Procter & Gamble and then GEC-Marconi before joining Deloitte & Touche, one of the “big 4” professional services firms in 1994.

She was a Director at Deloitte for many years, leading the firm’s global work on activity based costing and advising on business issues and change management on a broad range of projects in the UK and around the world.

Her last 5 years with the firm were spent mainly in health, directing a series of global programmes in the orthopaedics sector to help organisations restructure their business operations, improve their governance and deliver improved customer services to hospitals.

After leaving Deloitte she was the Vice-Chair of NHS North of England, the Strategic Health Authority overseeing regional strategy and performance across the North West of England.
