Genetic condition awaiting consideration - Osteogenesis Imperfecta
Osteogenesis imperfecta is a congenital bone disorder classified in to a number of different types.
Types IV, V and VI present with similar symptoms- bones fracture easily- short stature- bowing of bones- spinal curvature/scoliosis- hearing loss.
There is no cure for the condition. Treatment concentrates on aiming to strengthen bones and reduce fractures and treat infections as they occur as well as providing adaptive equipment to allow individuals to be independent.
