The Authority was asked if the HFEA participated in the NHS Lone Worker Framework Agreement and to provide details if so.
HFEA response
The HFEA does not participate in the NHS Lone Worker Framework Agreement. The reasons for this are because the HFEA is not an NHS organisation and does not participate in any activities that would require individual members of staff to visit high-risk situations. We do send teams of HFEA staff on inspection but these take place in professionally run clinics. That being said, the HFEA takes the welfare of its staff very seriously and so has produced its own lone-working policies and guidance available to all staff at all times on our intranet.
