Summary of request
The Authority was asked for PGD information, the break down by age and how many clinics offered the treatment.
HFEA response
The information relates to 2009, 2010 and 2011.
The first sheet contains the requested information broken down by age and the second contains the number of centres offering PGD treatment. As noted on the spreadsheet 2010 only includes half a year of outcome data and 2011 only includes half a year of treatment data. Every six months the HFEA conducts a verification process of another 6 months’ worth of data. Please note a patient may be counted twice in a year if they have two treatments in a year and one falls one either side of a birthday that is on one of the age boundaries. For example – In 2009 Mrs Jones undergoes two PGD treatments. One whilst she is 34 and then another a couple of months later when she is 35.
