Ms Jane Dibblin

Biography

Ms Jane Dibblin has relevant personal experience of infertility and unsuccessful treatment.  She and her partner have since adopted two girls and she is now involved in raising awareness of the needs of adopted children in the school environment.

Jane has over 20 years experience as a director and producer of documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4, and as a writer and journalist, contributing to The Guardian, The Observer and The New Statesman. She brings her research, analytic and communication skills to the HFEA.

Jane was previously a psychotherapeutic counsellor within a large private practice. She maintains a keen interest in this field. She also has extensive experience in campaigning on equality, lesbian and gay and human rights issues. She is the author of ‘Day of Two Suns: Nuclear Testing and the Pacific Islanders’ (Virago UK, New Amsterdam Books and others) and ‘Wherever I Lay My Hat: Young Women and Homelessness’ (Shelter Publications).

She joined the HFEA in September 2008.
