Summary of request
The Authority was asked for information about the external accountability arrangements that are in place between the HFEA and the Department of Health.
HFEA response
We do have accountability arrangements between ourselves and DH and also to Parliament, which are set out in a number of documents that together provide a framework of accountability:
1. The Management Statement agreed between us and a copy is attached

We also operate within the terms of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 1990 (as amended). Please note that some of the information provided is historical (annual reports) and other parts are plans so you may find minor differences between the documents.
