Dr Mair Crouch
Dr Mair Crouch, is a geneticist and lives in Glasgow. Her professional and personal insights into the ethical, legal and social consequences of developments in genetics led her to complete a Law degree, graduating LLB in 2004 from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
She is involved in raising awareness, increasing understanding and encouraging debate on issues concerning bioethics within Glasgow University.
She is also interested in extending the understanding of genetics and its effects on society to a wider audience and has been awarded a grant from the Scottish Government Public Engagement fund to achieve this.
Of relevance to her role on the HFEA, her lectures include topics such as Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis and stem cell technology.
