F-2011-00227 - Advice provided by the HFEA on treatment funding criteria

Summary of request

The Authority was asked what, if any, information was supplied by the HFEA to the East of England Specialist Commissioning Group to inform their policy on access to fertility treatment.

HFEA response

The HFEA makes a lot of information about treatment cycles and outcomes available via publication of long-term trend analysis, annual reports and the anonymised version of the HFEA Register. As these are available to the public on the HFEA website, the East of England Specialist Commissioning Group would have access to them. The HFEA occasionally receives specific requests for Register information not already published and we have carried out a search of our request log between 01/01/07 and 03/08/2011 (the policy in question was originally created in 2008 and then updated in July 2010 and June 2011). We have not found any request by The East of England Specialist Commissioning Group and therefore conclude that it was unlikely that we provided them with any data further to that publicly available.
