Summary of request

The Authority was asked for information about the number of donors that have opted to be identifiable and so-registered as such with the HFEA after 2005

HFEA response

There are 77 donors who donated before 1 April 2005 who have subsequently re-registered as identifiable.

There are also some donors who were recruited as identifiable before April 2005 by clinics who were ensuring they could use the sperm after that date but these are not counted in these figures.
