Summary of request

The Authority was asked for information about the number of sperm samples in storage in the UK over the period 1991 – 2010 and, for each sample, the length of time it will remain in storage, and the reason for storage.

HFEA response

The HFEA does not collect or hold comprehensive information about all sperm in storage in UK licensed centres.  This information is held by individual centres and may be reviewed by the HFEA on inspection.
