Summary of request
The Authority was asked what proportion of women consent to research based on data with identifiers.
HFEA response
Out of a total of 27,421 patients who have registered since October 2009, centres have reported that:
- 17,297 have not consented to their information being used for research
- 10,124 have consented to their information being used for research
- Therefore 37% have said 'yes' (on the CD form) to their information being used for research
