The HFEA consulted on the draft of the next edition of our Code of Practice and on a number of revised patient consent forms.

The draft 8th Code of Practice and consent forms have been written to:

• help clinics meet new legislative requirements 
• introduce some changes in guidance in response to feedback from patients and licensed clinics 
• take the opportunity to improve the style and layout of both the Code and the consent forms to improve clarity and usability.

Consultation process

In order to gather feedback, we asked all interested parties to look through the draft Code of Practice, consent forms and supporting documentation. They were then invited to respond to an online questionnaire.
