Information about Success Rates at Licensed Centres

The Authority will shortly be looking into the issue of what information should be available about the success of treatments at individual licensed centres, both for patients and for HFEA inspection teams. As a preliminary we are gathering information about what data centres currently provide.

We would therefore be grateful if you would let us have a copy of the information you publish or provide for people seeking treatment about the success of the licensed treatment(s) offered at your centre. We recognise that centres may be expressing the success of treatment in various ways. Please supply it in the way in which you currently make it available to patients. If this differs from the success data you provide to the HFEA when applying for licence renewal, please supply both.

We are also interested in your views on what information the Authority might make available to potential patients to enable them to compare the treatment offered at individual centres. If you have ideas on formulating helpful comparative data on treatment outcomes which would not mislead the public, please send them to us at the same time.

A stamped addressed envelope is enclosed for your reply and we would be grateful to receive it by 11 March 1994.
