FAQs on parenthood - married couples using husband's sperm

I am married and I will be treated using my husband's sperm, or using embryos created with my husband’s sperm. How will the new parenthood law affect us?

The new parenthood law will not affect you. Your husband will automatically be recognised as the legal father of any child born as a result of your treatment.

Consent to treatment forms allow your husband to consent to being registered as the father of any child born as a result of treatment provided after his death.

If you have any queries, speak to your clinic or contact the HFEA.
