Complaints about the HFEA

If you are directly affected by something that we may have done (or something that you think we should have done), and wish to complain about it, please do so by writing.

Complaints address:

Head of Business Planning
Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority
Finsbury Tower
103-105 Bunhill Row
London, EC1Y 8HF, or
email enquiries@hfea.gov.uk

How long will it take?

We aim to acknowledge your complaint within five working days.

We try to resolve complaints informally in the first instance. However, if you wish to make a formal complaint, the matter will be investigated by a senior member of staff.

What if I'm not happy about the outcome?

If you are unhappy about the outcome of your complaint, you may be able to ask for a review.

If, having gone through our complaints procedures, you remain dissatisfied with the way we have handled your complaint, you can ask your Member of Parliament to refer the matter to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.

We are not able to consider all complaints. For more details about the sorts of things that we can consider, and the principles and procedures that we will apply when considering your complaint, please see our complaints policy below.
